Car / Motor Vehicle Insurance
Your car is one of your most important assets and we'll make sure you get competitive Car Insurance cover that provides the protection you need.
Cover for Personal, Work and Business Vehicles
Whether you want to insure your personal car, work vehicle or a fleet of commercial vehicles, we'll tailor a Car Insurance policy that suits your circumstances. We'll walk you through the levels of cover on offer and help you pick the option that gives you real value for money.
The Three Levels of Cover
- Comprehensive
Covers your own loss and third-party damage, with optional extensions for a hire vehicle after an at-fault accident, windscreen damage and choice of repairer. Your vehicle can be insured for Market Value or Agreed Value.
- Third Party Fire and Theft
Covers third-party property damage plus fire and theft of your own vehicle.
- Third Party Only
Covers third-party property damage you may have caused.
Market Value vs Agreed Value
There's a lot of insurance jargon that can trip people up, and two of the most important terms to understand are Market Value and Agreed Value.
Market Value is what the insurer estimates your car would have sold for on the open market just before an accident. It's not a trade-in price, what an enthusiast would pay, or what it would cost to replace with a new model. Market Value is often the cheapest option, but the payout isn't guaranteed and drops as your car depreciates.
Agreed Value is an amount you agree to with the insurer when you take out the policy - giving you certainty about what you'll receive if your car is written off. It's worth exploring if your car is vintage, luxury, rare, imported, modified, antique or high-powered. Agreed Value isn't available on every policy, so we'll help you find cover that fits.
Optional Extras Worth Considering
Windscreen and Glass cover protects your windscreen and other car windows when damaged by an insured event under your policy. It's a common optional extra on comprehensive policies and often worth the small additional premium.
Hire car after accident cover is a lifesaver when your car is off the road for repairs. It's typically automatic if your car is stolen, but not after an accident - don't assume you're covered without checking. Being without wheels while your car is repaired is a genuine hassle this cover can spare you.
